I'd just like to make myself known to everyone here, my name's Joe, I'm from England, 37 years old and have been costuming as Darth Vader (RotJ version) for nearly 4 years; but I have been involved with the UKG since early 2008. I was fortunate enough to meet many of you at the pre-Training Day dinner on Friday night and I wanted to let you all know that you all made me and my wife Cris feel very welcome and I'd like to express my thanks to Paloma Ruiz-Atienza for helping me feel at-home before actually meeting anyone on the night!
A little bit about myself; I've lived in England all my life, but now I live here in Madrid, near San Lorenzo I have travelled to Cyprus, Finland, Colombia, Texas and France in the past. I met my wife in Colombia 10 years ago and we will have been married for 8 years in October. I don't speak Spanish very well, even with a Colombian wife...my fault (she has tried to teach me in the past but I can be a difficult learner)
I've always loved Star Wars and the first episode I ever saw was Ep VI RotJ (thats probably why it's my favourite) I enjoy costuming...although I don't have a costume at the moment as I sold it in March as it became too big for me when I lost weight, I do plan on starting a Death Star trooper and/or a Imperial Royal Guard sometime soon. I also enjoy Role Playing games like... Dungeons and Dragons, Lord of the Rings and of course Star Wars so if you also like these games let me know and maybe we could game some time, I have LotR and D&D 3.5 edition.
